“I have been a part of Steppers in Motion for two years. I enjoy it because I've always wanted to step but did not have a step team at my [high] school, and being offered that opportunity at Lynchburg, I was able to adjust to college faster and meet great people.”

Africana Studies major

At Lynchburg, we believe there’s great value in having a more global world view. That’s one reason why Dr. Ghislaine Lewis and Dr. Lindsay Michie created an Africana Studies major.

“Students can start to apply the principles of diversity and knowledge of African heritage culture to their experiences in organizations and programs.”

Assistant professor of communication studies

Service is
our tradition

Students help beautify neighborhoods, assist with reading in local schools, and alleviate food insecurity. If there’s a need, we're always willing to serve.

Our Bonner Leader Program helps students volunteer in the community.

“As a Bonner student, you will always be learning and becoming one with the community. I'm allowed a space to become involved and serve with a purpose. I'm now a better leader and, most importantly, a better friend/ally because of Bonner.”

A city on
the move

Small enough to really get to know but big enough to always offer something new. There’s plenty to do downtown and lots of options for foodies. Find miles of running trails on campus, as well as in the city and along the riverfront.
