Lynchburg's interdisciplinary EdD program helps leaders from K12 and higher education, government, nonprofit, public services, mental health and health care, and more.

Cohort Program

Collaborative learning with a consistent cohort means you’ll connect different leadership experiences and consider a variety of perspectives.

54 Credit Hours

Complete the 54-credit hour program in three years as a full-time student or in six years as a part-time student.

Online Program

The EdD program will use an online mode of instructional delivery.

In today's competitive job market, the interdisciplinary approach of Lynchburg’s EdD program provides invaluable, high-level insight into executive leadership strategies that cut across the educational spectrum. Courses explore key issues not only in education itself, but in public health, politics, communications, and research statistics, culminating in student dissertations reviewed by a broad and diverse faculty panel.

The instructors possessed an abundance of real-world experience, and I felt that the program would prepare me to meet the challenges that a sitting superintendent would face. Both programs [MEd and EdD] required me to broaden my horizons and develop my leadership skills.
