Doctor of Education (EdD) in Leadership Studies
Lynchburg’s EdD program in Leadership Studies is an interdisciplinary doctoral program designed to expand your leadership capacity and equip you with the skills, knowledge, and concepts necessary to lead effectively across various disciplines. The program engages you in a rigorous process of exploration, inquiry, engagement, practice, and reflection to develop as a leader in your field.
With a focus on preparing visionaries who can bridge boundaries and barriers to positively impact their communities, Lynchburg’s curriculum includes coursework on legal and ethical issues, public policy, human resource management, sustainability considerations, organizational change, government, politics, and leadership, and other critical topics.

Cohort Program
Collaborative learning with a consistent cohort means you’ll connect different leadership experiences and consider a variety of perspectives.
54 Credit Hours
Complete the 54-credit hour program in three years as a full-time student or in six years as a part-time student.
Online Program
The EdD program will use an online mode of instructional delivery.
In today's competitive job market, the interdisciplinary approach of Lynchburg’s EdD program provides invaluable, high-level insight into executive leadership strategies that cut across the educational spectrum. Courses explore key issues not only in education itself, but in public health, politics, communications, and research statistics, culminating in student dissertations reviewed by a broad and diverse faculty panel.
As a graduate of the program, you will be fully equipped to lead schools, colleges, non-profits, community agencies, and other organizations to meet their goals and objectives.
