Welcome to the Doctor of Physical Therapy program!

The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at the University of Lynchburg will help you develop the knowledge and skills necessary to provide physical therapy services. We are excited to have you as part of our DPT community!

The doctorate in physical therapy provides students with advanced education in anatomy, physiology, neuroscience, exercise science and kinesiology. This combined with clinical training prepares graduates for careers as rehabilitation specialists who assess injuries and illnesses related to movement and mobility; design treatment plans; teach patients how to manage their conditions through self-care techniques such as stretching exercises or medication management; work on restoring function by teaching them how to use equipment such as crutches or wheelchairs safely.
